Bayou Bazaar started as a kitchen-table hobby and grew into a small-batch candle brand rooted in South Louisiana tradition. Every candle we pour carries a piece of this place.
The Pour
Every candle at Bayou Bazaar is hand-poured in small batches — no assembly lines, no shortcuts. We work with premium soy wax and pure beeswax, blended to a careful ratio that gives each candle a clean, even burn from the first light to the last.
We use natural cotton wicks and carefully measured fragrance oils to ensure a strong, true-to-scent throw without the harshness of synthetic additives. Each jar is filled by hand, cooled slowly, and trimmed before it ever ships.
The Scents
Our fragrance palette is rooted in the sights, sounds, and smells of South Louisiana — magnolia blossoms in late spring, cypress trees draped in Spanish moss, sweet olive drifting through open windows, and the soft vanilla warmth of a bayou evening.
We develop every scent in-house, testing dozens of blends before settling on the ones that feel genuinely alive. If it doesn't smell like something you'd find here, it doesn't make the collection.
Why Jar Candles?
Jar candles are our heart and soul. They burn cleaner than open pillars, hold their fragrance longer, and the glass vessel protects the wax as it melts — meaning a more even pool, better scent throw, and less wasted wax.
When the candle is done, the jar lives on. Rinse it out and use it for pens, cotton balls, herbs from your garden, or just leave it on the shelf as a pretty keepsake. They also make the most beautiful gifts — we wrap every order with care so it's ready for someone special.
